摘要:ASC 842 requires firms to collect and analyze lease contracts for accounting classification, measurement, and recognition purposes. Leveraging the implementation of ASC 842, I examine firms' internal accounting hiring and its impact on the efficiency of lease management. I find that the standard prompts leaseintensive firms to significantly increase their internal accounting hiring, which enhances lease-related financial reporting quality. 摘要:We investigate whether differences in the mix of financial covenants in debt contracts (i.e., covenant heterogeneity) reflect-and provide a way for lenders to elicit, or screen-borrowers' pre-contractual private information about their future risk profile. 摘要:We examine the relationship between competition and reward practices in the public education sector. We hypothesize and find that school principals who face more intense competition make greater use of performancebased financial rewards and apply greater differentiation in its distribution between higher versus lower performing teachers. 摘要:Firms commonly employ leaderboards within their peer-to-peer recognition programs. We experimentally investigate how ranking basis-variation in the measure firms use to determine leaderboard rankings- affects employees' proactive helping behavior. 摘要:We examine whether corporate financing activities (CFA) in aggregate convey information about the macroeconomy. Using statement of cash flow information to construct a bottom-up measure of CFA, we find that it has significant predictive power for future economic activity when we exclude a small set of firms whose external financing is largely insulated from macroeconomic conditions. 摘要:This paper studies whether and how firms' enhanced public disclosures of patent filings can spill over to the managerial labor market.
