摘要:Recent advances in sensing, data analytics, and manufacturing technologies (e.g., 3-D printing, soft robotics, nanotechnologies, etc.) provide the potential to produce highly customized products by allowing flexible system design, endless device configurations, and unprecedented information flows. These opportunities also increase the complexity of controlling such systems optimally, which typically requires fast exploration of an increasingly large number of alternative operation strategies. ...

摘要:In this article, a discrete-time sliding mode control law is proposed for nonlinear (possibly multiinput) systems, in the presence of mixed input-state constraints and additive bounded disturbances. The control law is defined by formulating a nonlinear predictive control problem aimed at generating a control input that imitates an unconstrained discrete-time sliding mode law. In addition to satisfying input and state constraints, the resulting control law has all the properties of discrete-tim...

摘要:This article proposes a robust self-triggered model predictive control (MPC) algorithm for a class of constrained linear systems subject to bounded additive disturbances, in which the intersampling time is determined by a fast convergence self-triggered mechanism. The main idea of the self-triggered mechanism is to select a sampling interval so that a rapid decrease in the predicted costs associated with optimal predicted control inputs is guaranteed. This allows for a reduction in the require...

摘要:In this article, a Lipschitz continuous sliding mode controller (LCSMC) is proposed to stabilize an integrator chain with a saturated control input, Lipschitz continuous perturbations, and an unknown control coefficient. The proposed controller ensures global finite-time convergence to the sliding surface by means of a control signal that is Lipschitz continuous (i.e., has finite gain) and is bounded by a given actuator limit. Stability conditions for the controller's tuning parameters are der...

摘要:Defending against malicious attacks has become increasingly important in various cyber-physical systems. This article presents an encryption-based countermeasure against stealthy attacks on remote state estimation. Smart sensors transmit data to a remote estimator through a wireless communication network, in which data packets can be intercepted and compromised by attackers. The remote end is equipped with a false data detector that monitors the system. To avoid being detected, the attack shou...

摘要:Since the classical proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is the most widely and successfully used ones in industrial processes, it is of vital importance to investigate theoretically the rationale of this ubiquitous controller in dealing with nonlinearity and uncertainty. Recently, we have investigated the capability of the classical PID control for second-order nonlinear uncertain systems, and provided some analytic design methods for the choices of PID parameters, where the syst...

摘要:We study the relationship between the global exponential stability of an invariant manifold and the existence of a positive semidefinite Riemannian metric which is contracted by the flow. In particular, we investigate how the following properties are related to each other (in the global case): 1) A manifold is globally transversally exponentially stable; 2) the corresponding variational system admits the same property; 3) there exists a degenerate Riemannian metric which is contracted by the f...

摘要:This article revisits the classical multiagent average consensus problem for which many different event-triggered control strategies have been proposed over the last decade. Many of the earliest versions of these works conclude asymptotic stability without proving that Zeno behavior, or deadlocks, do not occur along the trajectories of the system. More recent works that resolve this issue either: propose the use of a dwell time that forces interevent times to be lower bounded away from zero bu...

摘要:This article is concerned with the strong stability problem of linear continuous-time delay-difference equations with multiple time delays. A family of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), indexed by a positive integer k, is derived to assess strong stability. A time-domain interpretation of the proposed LMI-based condition is given in terms of a quadratic integral Lyapunov functional, which allows us to reveal relations with an existing result. The LMI condition can easily be reformulated in a ...

摘要:The minimum-gain eigenvalue assignment/pole placement problem (MGEAP) is a classical problem in linear time-invariant systems with static state feedback. In this article, we study the MGEAP when the state feedback has arbitrary sparsity constraints. We formulate the sparse MGEAP problem as an equality-constrained optimization problem and present an analytical characterization of its locally optimal solution in terms of eigenvector matrices of the closed-loop system. This result is used to prov...
