摘要:This article considers the problem of adaptive output regulation of a class of 1-D anticollocated hyperbolic partial differential equations (PDEs). The model is subject to unknown scaled parameters in both the boundary condition and boundary measurement. An adaptive boundary observer, providing online estimates of the system state and parameters, is designed. Particularly, to realize that the pure boundary state at left side tracks a reference signal, a challenging problem with the estimate of...

摘要:In the vector-field-guided path-following problem, a sufficiently smooth vector field is designed such that its integral curves converge to and move along a 1-D geometric desired path. The existence of singular points where the vector field vanishes creates a topological obstruction to global convergence to the desired path and some associated topological analysis has been conducted in our previous work. In this article, we further show that the domain of attraction of the desired path, which ...

摘要:Achieving consensus via nearest neighbor rules is an important prerequisite for multiagent networks to accomplish collective tasks. A common assumption in consensus setup is that each agent interacts with all its neighbors. This article examines whether network functionality and performance can be maintained-and even enhanced-when agents interact only with a subset of their respective (available) neighbors. As shown in this article, the answer to this inquiry is affirmative. In this direction,...

摘要:This is the first of a two part paper investigating the geometry of the integrator reach sets, and the applications thereof. In this Part I, assuming box-valued input uncertainties, we establish that this compact convex reach set is semialgebraic, translated zonoid, and not a spectrahedron. We derive the parametric as well as the implicit representation of the boundary of this reach set. We also deduce the closed-form formula for the volume and diameter of this set, and discuss their scaling w...

摘要:We consider controlling a graph-based Markov decision process (GMDP) with a control capacity constraint given only uncertain measurements of the underlying state. We also consider two special structural properties of GMDPs, called anonymous influence and symmetry. Large-scale spatial processes such as forest wildfires, disease epidemics, opinion dynamics, and robot swarms are well-modeled by GMDPs with these properties. We adopt a certainty-equivalence approach and derive efficient and scalabl...

摘要:This work considers an online distributed optimization problem, with a group of agents whose local objective functions vary with time. Moreover, the value of the objective function is revealed to the corresponding agent after the decision is executed per time-step. Thus, each agent can only update the decision variable based on the revealed value and information collected from the neighbors, without the knowledge on the explicit expression of the objective function. To solve this problem, an o...

摘要:To efficiently solve the nonsmooth distributed optimization with both local constraints and coupled constraints, we propose a distributed continuous-time algorithm based on the mirror descent (MD) method. In this article, we introduce the Bregman damping into distributed MD-based dynamics, which not only successfully applies the MD idea to the distributed primal-dual framework, but also ensures the boundedness of all variables and the convergence of the entire dynamics. Our approach generalize...

摘要:This article deals with the state estimation problem in discrete-event systems modeled with nondeterministic finite automata, partially observed via a sensor measuring unit whose measurements (reported observed symbols) may be vitiated by a malicious attacker. The attacks considered in this article include arbitrary deletions, insertions, or substitutions of observed symbols by taking into account a bounded number of attacks or, more generally, a total cost constraint (assuming that each delet...

摘要:This article investigates the antidisturbance control issue for a class of Markovian jump systems with matched/mismatched disturbances by using disturbance observer approach. A key feature here is that the external disturbance is considered to be generated by a Markovian jump exogenous dynamics, in which the disturbance mode may not be synchronized with the system mode. Meanwhile, it is supposed that both system and disturbance modes can just be estimated via a hidden Markov mode detector. To ...

摘要:This article develops an optimization-based synthesis procedure for fixed-order output-feedback controllers, ensuring a stable closed-loop system with a monotonic step response and rejection of persistent disturbances. This result is based on a unified set of external positivity conditions for discrete-time linear systems. The conditions are derived using an alternative technique for the inverse Z-transform of rational transfer functions based on Bell polynomials and a convenient recurrence re...
