摘要:This article formulates and analyzes agreements of the nonlinear opinion dynamics in social networks according to switching interactions, where the agents' susceptibilities depend on current states. These switching interactions are formulated by switching directed graphs with some mild joint connectivity, and depicted by nonlinear switching model. An extended LaSalle invariance principle is established for analyzing the agreements of this switching model as well as three specialized scenarios,...

摘要:Topology inference for network systems (NSs) plays a crucial role in many areas. This article advocates a causality-based method based on noisy observations from a single trajectory of an NS, which is represented by the state-space model with general directed topology. Specifically, we first prove its close relationships with the ideal Granger estimator for multiple trajectories and the traditional ordinary least squares (OLS) estimator for a single trajectory. Along with this line, we analyze...

摘要:Power system transient stability has been translated into a Lyapunov stability problem of the postdisturbance equilibrium for decades. Despite substantial results, conventional theories suffer from the stringent requirement of knowing the postdisturbance equilibrium a priori. In contrast, the wisdom from practice, which certificates stability by only the observation of converging frequencies and voltages, seems to provide an equilibrium-independent approach. Here, we formulate empirical wisdom...

摘要:We introduce an online convex optimization algorithm which utilizes projected subgradient descent with optimal adaptive learning rates. We provide a second-order minimax-optimal dynamic regret guarantee (i.e., dependent on the sum of squared subgradient norms) for a sequence of general convex functions, which may not have strong-convexity, smoothness, exp-concavity or even proper Lipschitz-continuity. The guarantee holds against any comparator sequence with bounded path variation (i.e., the su...

摘要:Complex systems are often composed of many small communicating components called modules. We investigate the synthesis of supervisory controllers for modular systems under partial observation that, as the closed-loop system, realize the supremal normal sublanguage of the specification. Such controllers are called maximally permissive normal supervisors. The challenge in modular systems is to find conditions under which the global nonblocking and maximally permissive normal supervisor can be ac...

摘要:This article investigates the distributed fixed-point finding problem for a global operator over a directed and unbalanced multiagent network, where the global operator is quasi-nonexpansive and only partially accessible to each individual agent. Two cases are addressed, i.e., the global operator is sum separable and block separable. For this first case, the global operator is the sum of local operators, which are assumed to be Lipschitz, and each local operator is privately known to each indi...

摘要:Optimization problems emerging in most of the real-world applications are dynamic, where either the objective function or the constraints change continuously over time. This article proposes projected primal-dual dynamical system approaches to track the primal and dual optimizer trajectories of an inequality constrained time-varying (TV) convex optimization problem with a strongly convex objective function. First, we present a dynamical system that asymptotically tracks the optimizer trajector...

摘要:Reliable quasi-static object manipulation and robotic locomotion require the verification of the stability of equilibria under unilateral contacts and friction. In a recent paper, Posa et al. (2016) demonstrated that sums-of-squares (SOS) programming can be used to verify the Lyapunov stability of planar systems via Lyapunov's direct method if impacts are inelastic. However, this method appears to be too conservative to verify the stability of some remarkably simple examples. In this article, ...

摘要:This article is concerned with linear quadratic regulation (LQR) and stabilization problems for discrete-time stochastic systems with multiple input channels and input delays. In comparison with single-input-channel problems, a key difficulty, induced by the different delays in different input channels, is that the information sets for multiple controllers are required to be asymmetric and coupled. A novel technique, referred to as orthogonal decomposition-reorganization, is proposed to conque...

摘要:This article presents a new disturbance-observer-based adaptive spatial repetitive control scheme that enhances tracking performance for a time-varying periodic reference signal in a rotational system with parametric and nonparametric uncertainties. First, operator theory is used to establish a spatial modified repetitive controller (SMRC) that incorporates the position-domain internal model of the time-varying periodic reference signal. Second, a full-order state observer is designed to estim...
