Since 2012, the OECD Global Forum on VAT has been a unique platform for an inclusive dialogue on the design and operation of Value Added Taxes/Goods and Services Taxes (VAT/GST). This meeting will once again offer the opportunity for stakeholders from around the world to share policy analysis and experience, identify best practices and strengthen international co-operation to advance global dialogue on future-oriented VAT systems, in particular in the context of digital transformation.

Topics for discussion will include:

  • Digital economy – Applying VAT/GST to e-commerce and digital trade: challenges and solutions.
  • Crypto-assets – Shaping VAT/GST policy responses to the ever-evolving crypto-asset economy.
  • Transactional reporting – The potential role of e-invoicing and transactional reporting to support VAT/GST compliance and administration. • VAT/GST gaps – Using gap analysis to enhance VAT/GST revenue performance.
  • Artificial intelligence – Exploring the impact of AI and technological innovation on VAT/GST policy and administration.
  • Compliance risk management – Tackling VAT/GST fraud and compliance in digital trade: tools and strategies.
