摘要：We show that simply connected projective manifolds in characteristic p > 0 have no nontrivial stratified bundles. This gives a positive answer to a conjecture by D. Gieseker (Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, 4 S,r. 2(1):1-31, 1975). The proof uses Hrushovski's theorem on periodic points.

摘要：The K-theory of a polynomial ring R[t] contains the K-theory of R as a summand. For R commutative and containing ae, we describe K (*)(R[t])/K (*)(R) in terms of Hochschild homology and the cohomology of Kahler differentials for the cdh topology. We use this to address Bass' question, whether K (n) (R)=K (n) (R[t]) implies K (n) (R)=K (n) (R[t (1),t (2)]). The answer to this question is affirmative when R is essentially of finite type over the complex numbers, but negative in general.

摘要：We prove that exponential maps of right-invariant Sobolev H (r) metrics on a variety of diffeomorphism groups of compact manifolds are nonlinear Fredholm maps of index zero as long as r is sufficiently large. This generalizes the result of Ebin et al. (Geom. Funct. Anal. 16, 2006) for the L (2) metric on the group of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms important in hydrodynamics. 摘要：sigma (k) -Yamabe equations are conformally invariant equations generalizing the classical Yamabe equation. In (J. Funct. Anal. 233: 380-425, 2006) YanYan Li proved that an admissible solution with an isolated singularity at 0aae (n) to the sigma (k) -Yamabe equation is asymptotically radially symmetric. 摘要：Let p >= 5 be a prime, let ku be the connective complex K-theory spectrum, and let K(ku) be the algebraic K-theory spectrum of ku. In this paper we study the p-primary homotopy type of the spectrum K(ku) by computing its mod (p, nu(1)) homotopy groups. We show that up to a finite summand, these groups form a finitely generated free module over the polynomial algebra F-p[b], where b is a class of degree 2p + 2 defined as a higher Bott element.

摘要：Let M be (2n - 1)CP2#2n (CP) over bar (2) for any integer n >= 1. We construct an irreducible symplectic 4-manifold homeomorphic to M and also an infinite family of pairwise non-diffeomorphic irreducible non-symplectic 4-manifolds homeomorphic to M. We also construct such exotic smooth structures when M is CP2#4 (CP) over bar (2) or 3CP(2)#k (CP) over bar (2) for k = 6, 8 10.
