The electrical activity of these channels regulates a number of cellular functions, such as heartbeat and neural transmission. 摘要:In this paper we give necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for a test to be locally unbiased, we define local admissibility and we characterize local admissibility in hypothesis testing problems with simple null hypotheses. Applications are presented involving same-sign alternatives, ordered alternatives and independence testing of several variables.

摘要:Given a parametric model and an improper prior distribution, the formal posterior distribution induces decision rules in any decision problem. The results here provide conditions under which this formal Bayes method produces admissible decision rules for all quadratically regular decision problems. 摘要:Vincentization is a convenient method of aggregating a set of n greater-than-or-equal-to 2 probability distributions F1,..., F(n) in such a way that their synthesis, F = T(F1,..., F(n)), be of the same functional form as the F(i)'s when the latter are identical up to a location-scale transformation. A characterization of this combination rule is proposed and some of its consequences are outlined.

摘要:It is well known that anomalies are sometimes observed when using the likelihood ratio test (LRT) for testing restricted hypotheses in a normal model. This paper considers a general framework for these anomalies to occur. We provide a condition, that relates the null and the alternative hypotheses, under which the dominance of the LRT is obtained. 摘要:Let X(i) be i.i.d. X(i) approximately F(theta). For some parametric families {F(theta)}, we describe a monotonicity property of Bayes sequential procedures for the decision problem H0: theta = 0 versus H1: theta not-equal 0. A surprising counterexample is given in the case where F(theta) is N(theta, 1).
