摘要:This paper presents a novel decomposition approach for measuring deterrence motives in dynamic oligopoly games. Our approach yields a formalized, scale -free, and interpretable measure of deterrence motives that informs researchers about the proportion for which deterrence motives account of all entry motives. 摘要:We examine whether the gender gap in competitiveness in stereotypically male tasks persists when the decision to compete is made by someone else. In a within -subject laboratory experiment, decision makers make competition entry decisions for both themselves and a randomly selected other. 摘要:The stock option-implied volatility skew reflects both the structural risk characteristics of the underlying company and the short-term information flow about the stock price movement. This paper builds a semistructural, cross-sectional option pricing model to separate the structural risk contributions from the information flow. 摘要:This paper presents one of the first marketing applications of molecular genetics. We report evidence that salespeople's genetic variants linked to educational attainment predict sales performance. Both genetics and selling effort contribute to sales performance, whereas genetics contribute more than personality traits. 摘要:We study the interaction between algorithmic advice and human decisions using high -resolution hotel -room pricing data. We document that price setting frictions, arising from adjustment costs of human decision makers, induce a conflict of interest with the algorithmic advisor. A model of advice with costly price adjustments shows that, in equilibrium, algorithmic price recommendations are strategically biased and lead to suboptimal pricing by human decision makers. 摘要:Using a real -effort experiment, we show that people project their current tastes onto others when forecasting others' behavior, even when their tastes are exogenously manipulated and transparently different. 摘要:With the help of more than 700 reviewers, we assess the reproducibility of nearly 500 articles published in the journal Management Science before and after the introduction of a new Data and Code Disclosure policy in 2019. 摘要:We conducted a large-scale personalized field experiment to examine how match quality, recognition, and social impact influence domain experts' contributions to Wikipedia. Forty-five percent of the experts expressed willingness to contribute in the baseline condition, whereas 51% (a 13% increase over the baseline) expressed interest when they received a signal that an article matched their expertise.
