摘要:We consider decentralized optimization problems in which a number of agents collaborate to minimize the average of their local functions by exchanging over an underlying communication graph. Specifically, we place ourselves in an asynchronous model where only a random portion of nodes perform computation at each iteration while the information exchange can be conducted between all the nodes and in an asymmetric fashion. For this setting, we propose an algorithm that combines gradient tracking ...

摘要:In this article, we propose a tractable family of remainder-form mixed-monotone decomposition functions that are useful for overapproximating the image set of nonlinear mappings in reachability and estimation problems. Our approach applies to a new class of nonsmooth, discontinuous nonlinear systems that we call either-sided locally Lipschitz semicontinuous systems, which we show to be a strict superset of locally Lipschitz continuous systems, thus expanding the set of systems that are formall...

摘要:For networks of systems, with possibly improper transfer function matrices, we present a design framework that enables H-infinity control, while imposing sparsity constraints on the coprime factors of the controller. We propose a convex and iterative optimization procedure with guaranteed convergence to obtain distributed controllers. By exploiting the robustness-oriented nature of our proposed approach, we provide the means to obtain sparse representations of our control laws that may not be ...

摘要:This article addresses the problem of distributed state estimation via multiple access channels (MACs). We consider a scenario where two encoders are simultaneously communicating their measurements through a noisy channel. First, the zero-error capacity region of the general M-input, single-output MAC is characterized using tools from nonstochastic information theory. Next, we show that a tight condition to be able to achieve uniformly bounded state estimation errors can be given in terms of t...

摘要:This note presents an analysis of the state parameterizations used in output feedback reinforcement learning (RL) control. Output feedback algorithms based on state parameterization involve additional conditions on the state parameterization beyond the standard conditions on the system matrices for their convergence to the optimal solution. It is shown that the state parameterization matrix needs to be of full row rank to guarantee the convergence of the output feedback RL algorithms. We prese...

摘要:A common problem affecting neural network (NN) approximations of model predictive control (MPC) policies is the lack of analytical tools to assess the stability of the closed-loop system under the action of the NN-based controller. We present a general procedure to quantify the performance of such a controller, or to design minimum complexity NNs with rectified linear units (ReLUs) that preserve the desirable properties of a given MPC scheme. By quantifying the approximation error between NN-b...

摘要:In this note, we study contractivity of monotone systems and exponential convergence of positive systems using non-Euclidean norms. We first introduce the notion of conic matrix measure as a framework to study stability of monotone and positive systems. We study properties of the conic matrix measures and investigate their connection with weak pairings and standard matrix measures. Using conic matrix measures and weak pairings, we characterize contractivity and incremental stability of monoton...

摘要:Considering discrete-time linear time-varying systems with unknown dynamics, controllers guaranteeing bounded closed-loop trajectories, optimal performance, and robustness to process and measurement noise are designed via convex feasibility and optimization problems involving purely data-dependent linear matrix inequalities. For the special case of periodically time-varying systems, infinite-horizon guarantees are achieved based on finite-length data sequences.

摘要:In this article, we propose a load balancing problem formulation where agents cooperate with the aim of simultaneously minimizing both the workload disparity among the agents and the overall workload transfer, under network capacity constraints. Notably, in our computational setting, the network is not just a device for the distributed solution of an optimization problem; on the contrary, the problem shares the same sparsity pattern as the network, and this aspect allows us to solve it without...

摘要:In this article, we consider the optimal control of linear systems over wireless multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) fading channels, where the wireless MIMO fading and random access of the remote controller may cause intermittent controllability or uncontrollability of the closed-loop control system. We consider the finite-time horizon optimal control first and then check the conditions for the existence and uniqueness of optimal control for the infinite-time horizon case. Specifically, for...
