摘要:Motivated by the empirical evidence observed from the real-world data set, this paper studies context-based dynamic pricing with separable demand models. Consider a seller selling a product over a finite horizon of T periods and facing an unknown expected demand function that admits a separable structure f(p) + g(x), where p is an element of R and x is an element of Rd denote the product's price and features, respectively. The seller does not know the exact expression of f(p) or g(x) but can d...

摘要:We examine the relation between corporate tax planning and firm-level productivity. Using a sample of U.S. public firms from 1993 to 2017, we find that tax planning is positively associated with productivity. Our findings further indicate that tax planning contributes to growth in production input factors: capital and labor. We also test the underlying mechanisms, documenting that the observed association between productivity and tax planning is more pronounced in financially constrained and k...

摘要:The trend toward inclusivity in product and service design-ensuring equal access to, or benefit from, products and services-has gained significant attention in industries such as beauty, wellness, and fashion. However, to our knowledge, there is currently no rigorous definition of inclusivity in the product line design or assortment optimization literature. This paper addresses the need for rigorous models, frameworks, and methods to create inclusive product lines and to measure the inclusivit...

摘要:Most regulations are operationalized through metrics: numerical thresholds, targets, or test procedures that translate broad policy objectives into enforceable rules. Yet we know little about how these metrics shape firms' strategic behavior. This paper aims to fill this gap by studying the introduction of the side impact dummy (SID) in U.S. automotive regulation, which established a regulatory metric based on the average male-sized body. Using detailed data on U.S. vehicular accidents, I find...
