摘要:Nonparametric likelihood methods are developed for the analysis of partially censored data arising from a multistate stochastic process. It is assumed that the underlying process follows a semi-Markov model in which state changes form an embedded Markov chain and sojourn times are independent with distributions depending only on adjoining states. The general likelihood function for a set of partially censored observations is determined and maximized nonparametrically. The resulting nonparametr...

摘要:A simple approach to understanding the behavior of the partial autocorrelation function of seasonal time series is presented, based on a partial autocorrelation pattern. This pattern, which acts as a signature of the regular component of the model, is a simple composite of the autocorrelation and partial autocorrelation functions of the regular component.

摘要:Sequential procedures based on the modified Savage statistic are proposed for testing the equality of 2 survival distributions when observations are singly censored. Asymptotic properties, including expected sample sizes and power against contiguous exponential scale shift alternatives, are examined. Comparison is made with procedures based on a modified Mantel-Haenszel statistic (Muenz et al., 1977).

摘要:Sequential tests that are based on some unobservable parameter were well investigated using both classical and Bayesian approaches. The Bayesian predictive density function is used to construct a sequential test that is based on some statistic of a future sample, and the performance of such a test for exponentially distributed lifetimes is investigated.

摘要:In comparing 2 treatments, suppose that eligible [human] subjects come to the experiment sequentially and must be treated immediately. It was assumed that the experimenter selects 2n subjects and treats n subjects with each treatment. If, during the experiment, the experimenter knows or guesses which treatment is to be administered next, one may bias the experiment by subject selection. The problem is how to control this bias through choice of design. A design criterion is derived. Under this ...
