摘要:The complexity of semiparametric models poses new challenges to statistical inference and model selection that frequently arise from real applications. 摘要:A topological multiple testing scheme for one-dimensional domains is proposed where, rather than testing every spatial or temporal location for the presence of a signal, tests are performed only at the local maxima of the smoothed observed sequence. 摘要:We study the asymptotic behavior of kernel estimators of asymptotic variances (or long-run variances) for a class of adaptive Markov chains. The convergence is studied both in L-P and almost surely. The results also apply to Markov chains and improve on the existing literature by imposing weaker conditions. We illustrate the results with applications to the GARCH(1, 1) Markov model and to an adaptive MCMC algorithm for Bayesian logistic regression.

摘要:We study the approximation of arbitrary distributions P on d-dimensional space by distributions with log-concave density. Approximation means minimizing a Kullback Leibler-type functional. We show that such an approximation exists if and only if P has finite first moments and is not supported by some hyperplane.
