摘要:The chaotic response of the US Strategic National Stockpile to COVID-19 during 2020 highlighted the inadequacy of the inventory-based approaches to disaster response. This paper examines the integration of stockpile inventory, backup capacity, and standby capability to meet the disaster-related surge in demand in the future. 摘要:Buy-one-get-one-free (BOGOF), a ubiquitous sales promotion scheme by which consumers get two items for the price of one, encourages consumers to buy and waste food. 摘要:We consider an inventory system with Poisson demand arrivals arising from multiple classes. Restocking epochs are specified by a given sequence. At each epoch, we can place an order for any number of items for immediate delivery. We have to decide the inventory dispensation policy, which determines whether we should satisfy a demand, or reject it, or backlog it until the next restocking epoch. 摘要:This paper proposes price cannibalization as a growth strategy despite prior findings that suggests avoiding it. We focus on a multiclass, capacity-constrained pricing problem in which each of the product classes has a price range. Specifically, we examine the effects of price range overlaps and introduce it as a revenue-maximizing pricing strategy. 摘要:We study the design of crowdsourcing contests in settings where the outputs of the contestants are quantifiable, for example, a data science challenge. This setting is in contrast to those where the output is only qualitative and cannot be objectively quantified, for example, when the goal of the contest is to design a logo. 摘要:Our research investigates a joint inventory replenishment and pricing problem, where a seller controls the price of a leading product while restocking for all the products. We demonstrate that the seller's expected value functions present an L-(sic)-concave structure, recommending an optimal order-up-to inventory-level and list-price policy.
