摘要:In this article, the Kalman filter design problem is investigated for linear discrete-time systems under binary encoding schemes. Under such a scheme, the local information is quantized into a bit string by the remote sensor based on a probabilistic quantizer, and then the bit string is transmitted via memoryless binary symmetric channels (BSCs). Due to the communication link noises, the bit flipping occurs in a random manner, and thus, the transmission of the bit string would suffer from spec...

摘要:Partial integral equation (PIE) representation of a partial differential equation (PDE) allows using computationally tractable algorithms for analysis, simulation, and optimal control. However, the PIE representation has not previously been extended to many of the complex, higher order PDEs that may be encountered in speculative or data-based models. In this article, we propose PIE representations for a large class of such PDE models, including higher order derivatives, boundary-valued inputs,...

摘要:In this article, a modified unscented Kalman filter design algorithm is proposed for discrete-time stochastic nonlinear systems over full-duplex relay networks with binary encoding schemes. In order to enhance the transmission reliability, a full-duplex relay is deployed between sensors and the filter, and a self-interference cancellation scheme is introduced to eliminate the interference caused by the relay itself. To accommodate the digital communication manner, a binary encoding scheme is a...

摘要:This article studies the data-driven reconstruction of firing rate dynamics of brain activity described by linear-threshold network models. Identifying the system parameters directly leads to a large number of variables and a highly nonconvex objective function. Instead, our approach introduces a novel reformulation that incorporates biological organizational features and turns the identification problem into a scalar variable optimization of a discontinuous, nonconvex objective function. We p...

摘要:In this article, the mean-square consensus problem for linear discrete multiagent systems over both undirected and directed graphs is explored. The agent dynamics in the network is influenced by both input delay and observation packet loss. The packet loss probabilities are allowed to be nonidentical for every agent. An optimal predictor-based protocol is developed, and conditions ensuring the mean-square consensus are provided, which are expressed in terms of system dynamics, graph parameters...

摘要:We derive a sufficient condition for k-contraction in a generalized Lurie system (GLS), that is, the feedback connection of a nonlinear dynamical system and a memoryless nonlinear function. For k=1, this reduces to a sufficient condition for standard contraction. For k=2, this condition implies that every bounded solution of the GLS converges to an equilibrium, which is not necessarily unique. We demonstrate the theoretical results by analyzing k-contraction in a biochemical control circuit wi...

摘要:This article addresses the problem of steering the distribution of the state of a discrete-time linear system to a given target distribution while minimizing an entropy-regularized cost functional. This problem is called a maximum entropy density control problem. Specifically, the running cost is given by quadratic forms of the state and the control input, and the initial and target distributions are Gaussian. We first reveal that our problem boils down to solving two Riccati difference equati...

摘要:We establish a collection of closed-loop guarantees and propose a scalable optimization algorithm for distributionally robust model predictive control (DRMPC) applied to linear systems, convex constraints, and quadratic costs. Via standard assumptions for the terminal cost and constraint, we establish distributionally robust long-term and stagewise performance guarantees for the closed-loop system. We further demonstrate that a common choice of the terminal cost, i.e., via the discrete-algebra...

摘要:This article investigates the nonasymptotic and robust distributed algebraic state estimation for linear time-varying systems using a network of sensors in noisy environments. First, at each sensor node, the system state is transformed into a linear combination of a group of nodes' local observable states, allowing for distributed estimation by estimating a reduced-order state for each node. Second, without requiring initial conditions, the estimation scheme based on generalized modulating fun...

摘要:The linear-quadratic mean field social control problem is studied in a large-population system with heterogeneous agents following the direct approach. A graph is introduced to represent the network topology of the large-population system, where nodes represent subpopulations called clusters and edges represent communication relationship. Agents in each cluster are homogeneous and coupled with each other through the global cluster mean field term, which is the stack of average state of agents ...
