摘要：We consider the problem of scheduling the storage and retrieval of containers in the storage area of a container terminal. Some arcs in the underlying directed network must be visited; other arcs may be-but need not be-visited. We can, therefore, consider this problem to be a special case of the directed rural postman problem. We show that this problem can be reformulated as an asymmetric Steiner traveling salesman problem. 摘要：We develop a robust optimization framework for dynamic empty repositioning problems modeled using time-space networks. In such problems, uncertainty arises primarily from forecasts of future supplies and demands for assets at different time epochs. 摘要：We model and analyze the process of passengers boarding an airplane. We show how the model yields closed-form estimates for the expected boarding time in many cases of interest. Comparison of our computations with previous work, based on discrete-event simulations, shows a high degree of agreement.
