摘要:Research on organizational change has consistently shown that prior change increases the probability of further change, which supports the view that repetitive momentum governs change processes. We challenge this consensus, offering theoretical arguments for the opposite: Change propensity decreases as changes accumulate. 摘要:Using data from 94 top management teams, we found that dyadic goal importance congruence between CEOs and vice presidents (VPs) partially mediated the relationship of CEO transformational leadership with individual VPs' attitudes, but not their performance. 摘要:We investigate the Red Queen effect as a contest of competitive moves or actions among rivalrous firms. The results from a multi-industry study of over 4,700 actions confirms the existence of Red Queen competition, whereby a firm's actions increase performance but also increase the number and speed of rivals' actions, which, in turn, negatively affect the initial firm's performance. We further show that this Red Queen effect depends on industry context and a focal firm's market position.

摘要:In a U.S. sample of nonprofit professional theaters, we examine how slack resources interact with environmental threat appraisal to influence product exploration and exploitation. We find systematic variation depending on the extent to which a resource is rare and absorbed in operations, and the extent of perceived environmental threats. 摘要:Researchers have suggested that employees assess the fairness of important social entities such as supervisors and organizations, but little empirical research has examined the rules used in forming such justice judgments. 摘要:In response to traditional approaches' limited success in explaining voluntary turnover, we explored a paradigmatic shift in turnover research. 摘要:This study examines how CEO cognition, organizational capabilities, and organizational incentives interacted to shape firm strategy during the fiber-optic revolution. I tested for these factors' association with subsequent investment in optical technologies using longitudinal data from 71 communications firms. 摘要:Like governance structure and alliance scope, partner selection may serve to safeguard firms' intellectual assets in R&D alliances. We categorize potential alliance partners into friends, acquaintances, and strangers, depending on their previous alliance experience.
