Hitotsubashi University Concludes Student Exchange Agreement with Ankara University, Türkiye

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Hitotsubashi University concluded a student-exchange agreement with Ankara University in Türkiye to promote student exchange and other forms of academic collaboration.

The signing ceremony was held online. Representing Hitotsubashi University were President Satoshi Nakano, Executive Vice President Toshihiko Kato, and Vice President Albertus Jiro Rei Yashiki. Representing Ankara University were Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hatice Bakkaloğlu, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, as well as International Relations Coordinator Prof. Dr. Oğuz Güngör.

The ceremony opened with remarks by President Nakano and Rector Ünüvar. On behalf of Hitotsubashi University, President Nakano expressed his gratitude to Ankara University. Vice President Yashiki then highlighted the significance of finalizing the agreement, which was followed by a speech from Vice Rector Orhan, who shared his expectations for expanding future exchanges between the two universities. Afterward, President Nakano and Rector Ünüvar signed the agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening exchanges between the two universities.

Founded in 1946, Ankara University is a national comprehensive university in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Türkiye, and it is one of Türkiye’s leading institutions in higher education. Intertwined with facilitating the development of the Republic of Türkiye, the university offers education and conducts research across a wide range of disciplines, including law, political science, medicine, agriculture, the humanities, and the social sciences.

Hitotsubashi University and Ankara University will expand student exchange by finalizing this agreement, which can help develop the academic collaboration that has existed between the two institutions to date. In addition, this agreement is expected to strengthen educational and research collaboration between the two universities. As a result of this collaboration, undergraduate and graduate students at Hitotsubashi University will be eligible to study at Ankara University as exchange students.
