(Geneva) – In a fast-changing global trade landscape, Omani small businesses will receive support to export to regional and global markets, under a new partnership between the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman.

A signing ceremony marking the partnership agreement was held on 28 January 2026 at the Permanent Mission of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in Geneva, followed by an exchange between ITC Executive Director Pamela Coke-Hamilton and H.E. Idris Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Oman.

ITC’s focus on supporting the export success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) aligns with Oman’s priorities on economic diversification, export development and private-sector-led growth under Oman Vision 2040. The objective of this partnership is to support Omani exporters in strengthening their export readiness, enhancing their product packaging and gaining access to regional and global markets.

Further areas of collaboration include SME competitiveness in global markets, digital trade and e-commerce, development of sector-specific value chains aligned with Oman Vision 2040, and economic diplomacy.

About the International Trade Centre – ITC is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. ITC assists small and medium-sized enterprises in developing and transition economies to become more competitive in global markets, thereby contributing to sustainable economic development within the frameworks of the Aid-for-Trade agenda and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
