摘要

This article explores the potential contribution of international law to the optimal utilization of international freshwater. Dr. Benvenisti adopts a multidisciplinary approach in analyzing both the collective-action problems inherent in the management of water resources and the possible legal responses to these problems. This analysis demonstrates that international law can encourage cooperation between riparian states and suggests how current law and recent proposals for its codification and development can be made more conducive to such cooperation.
