摘要:
For small as well as large samples from a finite or infinite population the distribution of means is close to normal (except when the sampled population is extremely skew) and may be fitted satisfactorily by a Pearson curve. Under certain conditions approximately the same results are obtained by drawing from a finite or an infinite population. Distribution of a2 of small samples from an infinite population may be fitted with a Pearson curve by use of Tchouproff''s formulae for the moments. Corresponding formulae for samples from a finite population are derived, but are too complex for practical use. The technique of experimental sampling is considered;.
