Measurements of cadaver length and dry long bone lengths of 48 Chinese skeletons are given and regression formulae derived from them. The use of the Chinese regression formulae to predict French stature and vice versa does not give good results. Differences or similarities in stature-limb proportions seem to play a minor role in determining the applicability of formulae of one race to another. The influence of common racial differences in size, variability and correlation is noted. In a note K[arlJ P[earson] suggests that the difference in the regressions may be due to selection of the vertebral column.
