The correction of an error in a previous paper[long dash](See B. A. 8: entry 17283). It is not true that a parent population with marginal frequencies equal to those of the sample will give a minimum value of o2. The equations for determining these values have not been solved in the general case but in the special cases of fourfold and 2 X n-fold tables the minimum o2 differs little from that obtained by equating the marginal totals of the parent population and the sample.
