The error function of the second moment about a fixed point other than the mean of samples from an infinite normal population is a generalized form of Pearson''s type III frequency curve. The correlation function of the variances of samples from an infinite normal bivariate population has marginal distributions of type III of equal skewness. The regression of the means, variances and higher semi-invariants of the arrays is linear, but the correlation is not a function of the marginal constants. The arrays are not of type III except when r = 0. A generalized form of this correlation function and the correlation function of the variance of x and the mean of y are also derived.
