The first 4 moments are calculated lor any power of a normally-distributed variate and for the product of any number of normally-distributed variates (whether correlated or uncorrelated). Results are expressed in terms of the means and coeffs. of variation of the original distributions. Since linear measurements on biol. material are frequently nearly normal in their distributions, these results may be applicable to the distributions of the wts. or volumes of organisms.
