A unimodal frequency distribution f(x), of x is assumed. It is shown that to a given probability a, the range y, from x to x+y, is shortest when j(x) = f(x + y). This property is generalized to a quasi-multiple frequency distribution. This property is employed to secure estimate parameters for parent populations from samples drawn from the populations.
