A frequency distribution for the ratio [image] is obtained, where x and y are correlated. By a transformation, which substitutes for the correlation surface with its illiptical contours an equivalent system with circular contours having a common standard deviation for certain sections, the author shows that the cumulative frequency function can be expanded in the form [image] where h and q are defined by the given material and the B''s are certain definite integrals from 0 to h. The tables presented give values of V(h q) for various values of h and q. The tables can be used for graduating a frequency distribution in 2 variable for use of a normal frequency surface, and can be used to find the probability of V.
