In the beginning of the article the author compares the rank correlation coefficient derived by Student with that derived by Woodbury and states under what conditions one is better than the other. He discusses the estimation of a ranking and shows how to make tests of significance for n rankings by using the z-test under certain conditions. The entire article is concerned with methods and formulas for handling rank correlation when there are ties. A comparison is made between [rho] and [tau].
