The von Mises distribution in p dimensions is suggested for the analysis of data which are proportions of a continuum such as time or volume. The 1-way analysis-of-variance technique developed by Watson (1956) is extended to a multiway layout and the methods are illustrated on data giving proportions of time spent in various activities [student''s activities].
