摘要:
The discriminant function simply takes a linear combination of estimates on such characteristics as color, mealiness, texture and flavor. Each estimate is the average of several judges'' scores, while the corresponding coeffs. are detd. by the discriminative value of the characteristics. An analysis of variance can be used to determine whether the average combination for one condition is significantly better than that for the other. The method also ranks the characteristics in order of importance as discriminators.
